Wind turbines
Windpower Serengeti Ltd is the Tanzanian expert in small-scale wind turbines. With small-scale we mean a typical production of about 1 to 10 kWp peak power. This way of specifying is normal for wind turbines, although it can be misleading because peak power is only reached in high wind. Moreover the energy production (in kWh) per day, per month or per year is dependent on the local wind.

What do these technical specifications mean in daily life? Well, for an average good wind location, these turbines provide electricity for local dispensaries, health-care centers, schools, and other economic centers with small industries like mobile phone charging, car battery charging, powering a bar (with lighting, fan, and small refrigerator) or even a lodge.
If your electricity usage goes beyond these examples, you probably need a higher capacity wind turbine. Our Tanzanian made turbines of the so-called Piggott-type have a maximum peak capacity of 1.2 kWp. We know a lot of good quality western wind turbines from various brands, which have turbines of e.g. 3.5 kWp, 5 kWp, 7 kWp, or 10 kWp. We can sell and install these turbines. But also we are able to cooperate with external partners for the installation of even higher capacity than 10 kWp.

In case the wind potential is not perfect, but just enough, we will offer you the possibility of a hybrid system. This will increase the cost price, but in return you will get a much more reliable source of electricity. In case the wind potential is beyond expectation, we can help you considering exploiting the area for electricity production. In that case you probably proceed with medium-size or even large-size wind turbines. Windpower Serengeti Ltd. can be a strategic partner in that process.
